Jonathan Hastings (2 August 1751-8 March 1831) was the first son of Jonathan and Elizabeth Cotton Hastings of Cambridge, MA. The elder Hastings was Justice of the Peace and Steward of Harvard College. The son Jonathan graduated from Harvard in 1768, was appointed Postmaster on the resignation of James Winthrop in 1775.
